Our Listing Went Live Today!

For almost the last month we've been making the 30-minute trip almost daily between the old house and the new. With the old homestead empty, we've been working really hard cleaning, scrubbing, shining, patching and painting to get it ready to sell. It should have looked this good while we were living there! Our Realtor is our next door neighbor, which will work out well because she'll be able to tell lookers all the benefits of the neighborhood.

On the down side, it's a small 50+-year-old house with only 1 bathroom and small closets. On the plus side, Jack laid beautiful wood floors some years ago, and I love my maple kitchen cabinets too.  It has a large fenced yard and is next door to a small passive park. The neighborhood may be old, but it's safe and kept up, and it's convenient to everything.

The listing went live today, and I hope we get some good feedback (or better yet, an actual buyer!)

Palm Springs house

People ask me if I'll miss the house we lived in for almost 40 years, and wonder why we want to move. Although it's true that we raised our boys there and knew a lot of happiness within those walls, it's simply way past time to move on. It's also nice to live in a place where we don't have to take care of the exterior or yard at all, and it's fun to explore a new neighborhood.

I'm crossing my fingers that it sells without too much hassle, and that it brings in enough that we can afford a few things for the new house. I keep updating my wish list!
