1. First, I cut the plaid with the PTI stamp edge die, and die cut happys in multiple colors. This will be a birthday card for my son, who loves plaid.
2. Then I used the negative shape as a border for another stamp-edge die cut, this time adding "sending sunshine" to a die-cut sun.
3. Finally, I still had the tiny edge left from cutting the prior card with a stitched rectangle die, so it makes an edge border for yet another stamp-edge die cut. This time I colored the inserts in rainbow order and glued them back in for another birthday card.
I may or may not get a chance to play with more of the dozens of great ideas in this class, but if nothing else I do have a new wish list of products I'm sure I can't live without.
August 17. Took time today to try another technique, involving a stencil, sparkle embossing powder, and rainbow inks. The pattern showed up better with the darker inks, but I may try it again. I didn't have an outline stamp so my butterfly is kind ho hum, but I wanted to keep him simple so the background would be the focus.
Will I have time tonight for one more? Hmmm....

Your cards are so pretty! Great job on the plaids, and I love this last one with the pretty butterfly. Wonderful! (I'm taking this class, too, close to you in Day 5's Gallery & I noticed your card.)
