Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Holcomb

Seems like only yesterday Paul and Angela handed me our new grandson, an adorable baby boy they named Paul Jacob. Saturday PJ married his love, Margaret Hope Chase and we were there to share the day! Can't wait to see the professional photos but I did manage to shoot a few pix with my little point-and-shoot.

  • Ashlyn and Lauren were among the first five bridesmaids to march in. The bride had 10 attendants in all, including many of her dance friends and her sister. The girls all wore pale peach dresses, and no two were quite alike. They all looked so pretty!

  • Did PJ look nervous waiting for the bride? Or just pensive?

  • Oh, here she is:

  • Reciting his vows:

  • He washes her feet:

  • She washes his:

  • And the minister presented to us the new Mr. and Mrs. Paul Holcomb:

  • After a LOT of professional photos, we all repaired to the lovely tent set up outside. There was fruit and cheese, and an assortment of pies and desserts. The young people had a ball dancing and I bet they all slept in late today! The walkway to the tent was decorated with photos of Margaret and PJ when they were little.

  • I think I was most fascinated by the quilts decorating the church. There were quite a few inside the church, draped over the front seats and hanging in the hall, as well as these lovely pieces outdoors. Margaret's Mom, Ruth, told me that the ones indoors were mostly antique heirlooms, and many of the quilts had been made by Margaret's grandmothers.

We love this sweet girl that PJ married, and wish them many years of joy. PJ and Margaret are off for a short honeymoon before they return to Florida. They'll stay with Paul and Angela until they leave for their assignment in China.

The adventure begins!!!
